Fall Elopement Getting Ready & Wedding Details

Breanna and Chris like to do things their way and express themselves in artistic ways, and they definitely wanted a Halloween wedding! We started their wedding day with details at their cute Airbnb. I always arrive a few minutes early to say hi to my couples and go right into photographing their details somewhere outside or inside next to a window.

Bre and Chris then began to get dressed and ready for their first look in the Airbnb’s yard. I love the anticipation those minutes before they see each other as they’re getting dressed!

Their Fall Elopement First Look

It was such a touching moment for such a sweet first look. I always take a step back and allow my couples to have that moment “alone” together and take in each other as much as possible before I step in and start doing photos. We took a few portraits against the changing fall color leaves, and I loved how Bre’s dress really popped against those fall colors. Her purple hair also looked stunning surrounded by oranges, greens, and yellows!

Fall Elopement Ceremony at Tobyhanna Falls State Park

Bre and Chris invited a handful of their closest family members to attend, so we all made our way to Tobyhanna Falls State Park in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania. As Bre’s family was finishing setting up the ceremony space in the tall pine trees, Bre, Chris, and I went down the river for a few private portraits.

Bre’s mom officiated the ceremony, and it was so special to see their family witness their wedding! I make sure to get as many perspectives as possible during a ceremony, so the couple and guests can relive the day later and see the events from other points of views! I focus a lot on close up photos of the couples’ faces as well as their families’ reactions since it was such a big decision to include them. Then, they exchanged personal vows and rings before saying “I Do” and having their first kiss! It was a beautiful, heartwarming ceremony.

Intentional Fall Elopement Photos with the Wedding Couple

After the wedding ceremony, we spent a few minutes taking family photos in front of the ceremony arch before dismissing their family back to the Airbnb. While their family returned to the Airbnb, the three of us continued adventuring around the park!

We did a short hike through the forest, followed the trail, and even took photos along the way. They brought a cute vintage picnic basket filled with yummy snacks to have a newlywed picnic on the rocks beside the river! The view was spectacular! We took a short break to eat and soak in the view and crisp October air. I really wanted to get some “epic” photos, so I had them stand at the end of the rocks with the river and trees behind them. Bre’s dress, her hair, the florals, the fall colors… *chef’s kiss* it was all so freaking perfect.

Cozy and Fun Airbnb Fall Elopement Reception

We made our way back to the Airbnb where her family prepared a candle lit dinner to celebrate. While waiting for the food, everyone went downstairs to play pool and ping-pong! The Airbnb was ringing with laughter!

Then, we all sat down for dinner and a few toasts were shared and everyone cheered to the couple! The last events of the evening were cutting the cake (that Bre made herself!) and signing the marriage license before ending the night with a cozy campfire with everyone.
